Membership Requirements

Dues

Dues are $50 per semester or $10 per lesson until you reach $50. Please have payment ready at the door. We take cash, check (please make checks out to Texas A&M Ballroom Dance Association), or payments via TAMU Marketplace (have confirmation ready).

Members who pay dues have access to instructor taught lessons, our reserved practice rooms, and our club discord for the whole semester. Dues-paying members are also allowed to join the performance team and attend inter-collegiate competitions representing Texas A&M as a member of TAMBDA

Non-members may want to compete with TAMBDA at future competitions. We ask that each non-member competing pay a competition fee of $25 per competition they attend as a TAMBDA representative.

Attendance

Members who have paid their dues may come as often as they wish to lessons and practices. There are no minimum attendance requirements for lessons and practices to maintain membership.

We also require members to come to at least one social outside of lessons to get to know their fellow dancers better. We want to build a strong community on campus, and meeting outside of lessons is a great way to build that community!

Though not required for membership, we recommend going to competitions. It is the best way for you to grow your skills and grow as a dancer. There is also no minimum skill requirement for you to go to a competition. Collegiate competitions have a newcomer division designed specifically for dancers who have been dancing for less than 6 months and brand-new to the competitive world. Dozens of newcomers from every school compete in these events and we highly recommend them.
